The Chelmsford Club will be closed for the next 2 Tuesdays (24th & 31st Aug).Sensei Garys South Woodham Sunday club will be closed 29th Aug. All clubs will be closed Bank holiday Monday (30th Aug).

Warrior Games Day

Saturday 7th August at Basildon Sports Centre saw the first warrior day where peace was broken with shouting, chaos and mayhem MORE>


Wakarishin Storm Denmark

Initial reports from Denmark has awarded team Wakarishin with 37 medals with the team demo getting Gold! Well done to all our competitors. More details to follow when we get further information.

Old Student Gets Married

Those of us who have been members for a long, long time, will remember Claire Vernezza, daughter of Elaine and David Vernazza. Claire was a Jikishin student reaching the level of Second Dan before leaving for Reading University, where she attained First Class Honours in Microbiology before gaining a Doctorate. She married Dr. Steve Lonsdale on 22nd May in Salisbury. Congratulations to the happy couple.

Buckingham Palace Garden Party Guests!

Professor Terry Parker 10th Dan, accompanied by his wife Sensei Janet Parker have attended HRH the Queen's Garden Party at Buckingham Palace on 22nd July in recognition for his services to Ju Jitsu.

Multi Arts Course

The 5th Annual Multi Arts Course is on Saturday 16th October 2010. Hosted by Sensei Steve Cook of Eastern Bujitsu. Venue: Attleborough Sports Hall, Queens Square, Attleborough, Norfolk, NR17 2AE. Time: 10 a.m - 4 p.m. Cost: £15 Adults £10 Juniors. This is your chance to train with many guest instructors from different disciplines: Ju Jitsu, Karate, Kickboxing, Tae Kwon Do & Bujutsu. Come and be part of a great day out. Please book your place with Sensei Ian. Overnight stays are available. Details upon request.


Ko-Budo

A reminder that the next Ko-Budo will be on Sunday 7th November at Markhams Chase Sports Centre, Basildon from 1.30pm to 4.30pm. Seniors may attend Ko-Budo from Blue Belt and Juniors from Brown 3rd Tag Belt. Please advise your club Sensei if you wish to assess. The necessary level of aptitude and number of Ko-Budo’s attended will need to be met before you may assess.

Junior Grading 10th July

Congratulations to all our Junior students who passed their gradings. The standard once again was very high. Sensei Ian would also like to thank all the adult helpers which without their help the day would be impossible! Our next junior grading day will be Saturday 30th October.


BJJA BRITISH NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS DATES FOR 2011

We have just learned that the 2011 National Championships will take place on Saturday 9th April at Walsall Sports Centre, Gorway Road, Walsall, WS1 3BD. An early date for next year’s diary. More details to be added as they are made available.

Senior Grading Changes

Random attacks will now be included as part of the senior gradings. These should be practiced in class as part of your syllabus. The random attack styles can be downloaded HERE or from the Downloads section.
